He is alluding to the point I’ve been waiting for someone to bring up when people talk about how much universal healthcare will cost. We spend so much money on things we don’t need (say, a war whose original premise was false but whose supporters now try to say was worth it because Iraq is now a democracy), and providing healthcare to fellow citizens is where we apparently draw the line on wasteful spending? Just put it that bluntly.
