France has only a few cities of note other than Paris; Marseilles and Lyon, the country’s #2 and #3 cities respectively, are each smaller than Cincinnati. But both not only have tram (modern streetcar) lines, they each have several subway lines apiece. Neither are defined by the large parking lots and garages that characterize nearly all American cities.
