Ridiculous verb construction I just used in the sentence “If he had said no, we’d’ve had to have figured something else out.”

This promotional film by Charles and Ray Eames includes a detailed look at the internals of Polaroid’s SX-70 camera, including its lens assembly and the mechanical operation that follows each shutter press. The style, framing and voiceover are all impeccable. (via Pat Dryburgh)
Weird.
This morning the Leonard Lopate show had two food writers on to talk about holiday food traditions, and they mentioned Kringle, a Danish pastry, and a specific bakery (O&H) in Wisconsin that makes them.
This afternoon, we received an O&H Kringle from a client. Everyone was so excited, apparently they get one every year and it’s everyone’s favorite.

Any ideas? Also, just great books, but sometimes the audio books are different and special. Like, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya sisterhood is a good book, I’m sure, but the audiobook has the most FABULOUS accents. Same with Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Sometimes I wish there were lowercase numbers.
There kind of are. Oldstyle figures ≈ lowercase, lining figures ≈ uppercase.
My boss’s dog has a pen and he is running laps across the entire office with it.

“unreinforced” is a really odd word, but I think it makes sense, in discussing the Pantheon, which has the largest concrete dome that doesn’t use steel reinforcing. Calling it “uninforced” is wrong… in fact “inforced” isn’t even a word…
What about “non-reinforced”?
The ridiculous power of Google
How the hell do you acquire the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4?
(They’re for Google’s new Public DNS service, btw.)
